Shannon Y. Song – Executive Vice President, Magnequench Division
Ms. Song was appointed Executive Vice President, Magnequench Division on August 31, 2005. She was previously Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning and China Operations for Magnequench, Inc. and a member of the board of directors of Magnequench, Inc. since 1995. Beginning in 1991, she served as Finance Director of China National Non-Ferrous Metals Import & Export Corporation until assuming her duties with Magnequench. Ms. Song completed her undergraduate education in electrical engineering at Northern China Industrial University in 1982. In 1990, Ms. Song was awarded an MBA at Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, California, and in 1998, she completed the Harvard Executive Education Advanced Management Program.
Bernd Grieb – General Manager, European and South American Sales
Dr. Grieb, a German citizen, joined the Magnequench sales office in Germany as General Manager for European sales in 1999 and in 2006 assumed the additional role of General Manager for South American sales. Prior to joining Magnequench, he was Head of the Rare-Earth Magnet Department at Magnetfabrik Schramberg since 1991. From 1988-1991, he was a Senior Research Scientist in the “Hardmagnetic Materials” development group for Max-Planck-Institut fueur Metallforschung. Prior to 1988, Dr. Grieb worked for five years as an Assistant Research Scientist and Masters of Science (Dipl.-Ing.) degrees in Metallurgy and his Ph.D. (Dr. rer. nat. in Chemistry) from the University of Stuttgart.
Jim Herchenroeder – Vice President, Engineering and Sales Manager North America
Dr. Herchenroeder was appointed Vice President Engineering in 2006. Most recently Dr. Herchenroeder was Chief Engineer for Magnequench since 2001 and was responsible for Engineering and Quality Assurance for MQP and MQU powders. Dr. Herchenroeder joined the Magnequench Business Unit of General Motors, Delco Remy Division in 1988 as a Senior Metallurgist. Since then, Dr. Herchenroeder has held several technical management positions within Magnequench including: Group Manager, Quality Assurance Manager, R&D Manager, and Powder Technology Manager. Dr. Herchenroeder has a B.S. Metallurgical Engineering from Purdue University in 1984, a Ph.D. Metallurgy from Iowa State University in 1988, and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
Greg Heydon – President – Magnequench Tianjin, Tianjin, PRC
Dr. Heydon, a British national living in Beijing, joined Magnequench in 2000 as a Process and Quality Engineer and was promoted to President from Vice President of Operations in January 2007. Previously, he was Chief Engineer from 2000 to 2005. Prior to joining Magnequench, he was a Post Doctoral Research Assistant at Sheffield University from 1997 to 2000. Dr. Heydon holds a BSc(Hons) Applied Physics and Instrumentation degree and a Ph.D. from Manchester Metropolitan University in the UK.
David Huang – Sales Manager – China
Mr. Huang, a PRC national, joined Magnequench in 2003 as Sales Manager for China. Prior to joining Magnequench, he was Sales and Marketing Manager for Tyco International in Beijing from 2000 – 2003. From 1998 – 1999, he was Project Development Manager for Infra Vest GmbH in Beijing which specialized in renewable energy. Prior to 1994, he held positions in management and programming and was also a lecturer at the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Mr. Huang holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Mechanical and Electronic Engineering from the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He also received an MBA from Tsing Hua University in Beijing in 2003.
Greg Kroll – Director, Marketing and Business Development
Mr. Kroll joined Magnequench in 2000 as Special Projects Manager in Indianapolis, USA. He has been Business Development Manager since 2002 and relocated to Singapore in 2003. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in East Asian Studies in 2000 from the Elliot School of International Affairs at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., USA. He also studied Chinese language and culture at Beijing University in 1998.
Doug McInnes – Managing Director, Magnequench (Korat) Co., Ltd.
Mr. McInnes, an Australian national residing in Thailand, was appointed Managing Director of Magnequench (Korat) Co., Ltd. (MQK) following the merger of AMR and Magnequench in August 2005. He joined AMR in July 2000, and in August 2001, was appointed Managing Director of AMMT (now MQK). In July 2003, he was appointed Vice President, Manufacturing responsible for all AMR production facilities. Previously, he was Regional Manager of the Phillipines operation of Outokumpu Technology Pty Ltd. From 1990 to 1992, he was Instrumentation and Process Control Superintendent for the Elura Mine in Cobar, Australia. From 1976 to 1989, he held supervisory positions in process control and instrumentation with several mining and petrochemical companies.
David J. Miller – Director, Research and Development
David Miller is the director of research and technology at Magnequench and has been with Magnequench since 1999. Mr. Miller has more than ten years of design and development experience. His specialties include magnetic circuit design, finite element analysis, and the development of magnetization and test equipment. David has four U.S. patents in the field of magnetics. He has a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University and is a candidate for the MBA degree from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
Martin Nishizu – General Manager
Mr. Nishizu joined Magnequench in Jun 2011 as General Manager of the Japan Office. Prior to joining Magnequench, he was Global Marketing General Manager of Panasonic Motor Business Unit since 2009. From 2003 to 2008, he was President of Panasonic Motor Company of America. Prior to 2003, he worked 4 years as Product/Marketing Manager with Panasonic Industrial Sales in America. From 1990 to 1999, he was Export Sales Manager of Panasonic EMD. From 1987 to 1990, he worked 3 years as Technical Advisor with Panasonic Industrial in the UK. Prior to 1987, he was a Motor Design Engineer in Panasonic since he joined Panasonic in 1978. He graduated from Kyusyu Institute of Technology in Fukuoka, Japan and obtained Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree.
Jung-Pil Yang – General Manager
Dr. Yang was appointed the General Manager of the Korea office following the merger of AMR and Magnequench in August 2005. He had been with AMR’s Korean subsidiary since 2000 holding the positions of Technical Advisor, Application Engineering Manager and Vice President, Sales and Marketing Development. Previously, he held the positions of Senior Research Engineer at two subsidiaries of the Halla Group of Korea from 1992 to 1998. Dr. Yang obtained his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 1992. He also received his M.S. Degree in Materials Science and Engineering from KAIST in 1989 and his B.S. Degree in Metallurgy from Yonsei University in 1987.
Alex Caldwell – Corporate Secretary, Manager, Information Systems
Alexander D. Caldwell is a resident of Canada and the Corporate Secretary of the Company, and has been an officer of the Company since 1993. He is also Executive Assistant to Constantine Karayannopoulos and responsible for information systems at the Company. Prior to joining the Company, his previous experience included sales, sales management, office management and administration. He graduated from Ryerson University in 1980 with a Diploma in Electrical Technology.
