Chemical Properties
Yttrium closely resembles the lanthanides in properties. The oxide, slightly hygroscopic, is insoluble in water but soluble in mineral acids. Among Yttrium (III) salts, the carbonate and oxalate are insoluble but the chloride, acetate, and nitrate are soluble in water.
