THE PROGRAM
Molycorp has established a scholarship program to assist
with higher education expenses for qualified seniors
at Questa High School.
This scholarship is being administered by the Molycorp
Employee Contribution Committee (ECC). Awards are
granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion,
gender, disability of national origin.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must be –
1. Current high school seniors in good standing at
Questa High School; and
2. Planning to enroll for the first time in a full-time
course of study at an accredited two-year or four-year
college or university for the fall 2006 semester.
AWARDS
Two scholarships will be granted each year. If selected
as a recipient, the student will received an initial
award of $2000.00. Each subsequent year, if the student
maintains annual enrollment and a cumulative GPA of
2.5, he or she will receive an additional $1000.00
per year for a maximum of $5000.00 over four years.
APPLICATION
Students interested in applying must complete the
application and mail it along with a certified high
school transcript to Molycorp postmarked no later
than
May 1, 2006.
Applicants are responsible for gathering and submitting
all necessary information. Applicants can only be
evaluated on the information supplied; therefore all
questions should be answered as completely as possible.
All information received is considered confidential
and is reviewed only by members of the Molycorp ECC.
SELECTION OF RECIPIENT
The scholarship recipient will be selected on the
basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership,
participation in school and community activities,
work experience and goals and aspirations.
Selection of the recipient is made by the Molycorp
ECC and those decisions will be final.
Applicants will be notified in May 2006.
PAYMENT OF SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarship payments are authorized by Molycorp, Inc.
and processed by the Molycorp ECC. Payment will be
made in two equal installments on August 15 and December
30, 2006. Checks are mailed to the recipient’s
home address and are made payable to the college or
university.
OBLIGATIONS
The recipient is required to notify the Molycorp ECC
of any changes of address, school enrollment or any
other relevant information.
